How long does it take to complete a custom design?
It can take anywhere between 3 days and 3 weeks and will likely depend upon the following factors… Whether you require any design work/assistance. If I have everything in stock. What other projects I am involved in and if there are any immediate deadlines.
What file format do you require?
I perform all my design work in Inkscape, prior to moving to the laser cutter. If you use Inkscape, then send the SVG file, along with a jpg. If you use Adobe Illustrator, then send the AI file, along with a jpg. I can work with high resolution jpgs. I use and recommend Inkscape but I can accept Adobe Illustrator files and high res jpg’s. If you send in vector format, please include a jpg, so I can ensure it has opened correctly on my end. The designs have to be in black and white with no gradients of grey. Black engraved, White not. It is possible to create shading effects with the use of lines or dot matrix.
I will send you a template of the required deck size in SVG format.
